There was a time I had the opportunity to compete in a national Cyber Security competition here in Tanzania. From the semi-final stage, 50 participants were selected for the finals in Dodoma — and I was the only Diploma student among them, and the only representative from my university (university of Iringa). I truly loved Cyber Security. It felt natural to me — like it was in my blood. However, life has seasons. Financial challenges forced me to pause that journey and shift my focus to projects that could sustain me immediately — such as Digital Marketing and building practical systems like Ada Management. These paths allowed me to generate income and continue supporting my education and responsibilities. If I had continued fully into Cyber Security at that time, maybe today I would be in a different financial position — or maybe I would have struggled deeply in those early years. Sometimes survival must come before specialization. But this does not reduce my respect for the field. To those who are currently pursuing Cyber Security — keep going. It is a powerful and highly valuable field, especially as our country continues to digitize and strengthen its technological infrastructure. The demand will only grow. Every journey has its timing. Mine took a strategic turn — not a defeat. And the love for Cyber Security? It never left.
